Dogs die in
hot cars

It can take just 20 minutes.
A simple sticker can save a dog life!

ROLDA’s auto alert car sticker is designed to warn you when it’s too hot for your pet in the car. Place ROLDA sticker on your car and show others that you are a responsible pet owner and teach them how dangerous hot cars are for our beloved pets.

It’s never OK to leave a dog, or any animal, locked inside a vehicle. Not for any amount of time.

Leaving the car’s windows slightly open or claiming “It’s not that hot” are not valid reasons or justifications to leave a dog in a car.

Every year, thousands of dogs die from heat-related complications suffered while being locked in a parked car during hot and mild temperatures. These are unnecessary deaths that can be easily avoided by planning ahead or making responsible decisions.

Indulge your
dog…responsibly

We always want to see our dogs happy and enjoying life, and that’s why we often don’t think twice about spoiling them. Some dogs love going for a car ride, and we want to indulge them whenever we can. But it’s always a good idea to plan before you take your furry friend out for a cruise.

Don’t take your dog if you need to run errands that require you to leave him or her unattended in your car. Save the ride for another time. As for those unexpected occasions where you need to make a quick unscheduled stop (perhaps you need to pick up something at the pharmacy?) remember: It’s never OK to leave your dog locked in a car. You can always return to do your errand after you’ve left your dog safely at home.

Please, don’t risk your dog’s life. Be responsible.

You dont need to be:

A doctor to know the extreme heat can kill a dog – the sticker will not replace common sense observation, when its 40C inside a hot car, it clearly affects your dog…but sometimes even what you consider moderate hot can harm your dog.

A specialist in climate change to observe the weather is getting warmer everywhere – as warm days per year increase, protecting your dog becomes a necessity

A dog owner – you can give the sticker to someone else who own a dog who will appreciate your care.

You care. For us this is enough and we cant be more grateful.

Quick facts:

If your dog is suffering a heat stroke, immediate medical attention is required. Symptoms of heatstroke include excessive panting and drooling, exhaustion or unconsciousness. Until you reach the vet, wet your dog’s fur with warm/cool water (not cold water). Provide shade and drinking water.

Parked cars can quickly reach deadly temperatures, even on mild days with the car parked in the shade and the windows slightly open.

Dogs have a limited ability to sweat; even a short time in a hot environment can be life-threatening. A dog’s normal body temperature is about 39°C and can withstand a temperature of 41°C only for a very short time before irreversible brain damage, or even death can occur.

If you can’t take your pet with you when you leave your car, leave them at home where they are safe. Owners who choose to leave pets unattended in vehicles may face criminal charges.

Report it! Act fast, save a life!

If you see an animal unattended in a vehicle, report it! If you spot an unattended pet in a vehicle that appears to be suffering from heat exhaustion, quickly contact your local shelter!

Stick up for them

Sadly, some pet owners still need to be reminded that leaving their dog locked in a car is dangerous. They justify their actions with common excuses such as “I was only gone for two minutes” or “I left the car in the shade with the windows open.” While they are thoughtful about how they leave their dog unattended, they are being irresponsible and risking their dog’s health and life.

People always need reminders, especially visual reminders. That’s why ROLDA believes that a simple sticker can save a dog’s life.

By placing ROLDA’s auto alert sticker on your car, you are proudly demonstrating that you’re a responsible pet owner and reminding others how they can be responsible, too!
